I learned how very generous he was with his time and energy for others when one summer afternoon he took my "little sister" and I (I was in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program then) out on the Lake in his boat. It was Arizona's first time trying to water ski, so she kept falling down. But Jim kept circling back patiently letting her try over and over again. It was so kind of him, and I know it meant so much to her. He had a big, big heart, evident in his all-encompassing hug one was fortunate enough to receive.
