Jim touched so many lives and I know that his legacy will continue to live through all the entrepreneurs who had the fortune of working with him.
Jim was more than a mentor; he was a friend and a much needed pillar of support. It seemed like he always knew exactly what to say, providing the right words of encouragement while striking a delicate balance with his unique dose of pragmatism.
I found Jim's enthusiasm, passion and curiosity very real and palpable. He most certainly inspired me. Having led a very full life I only wish I had the pleasure of meeting him earlier in mine.
There is no way I would be where I am now in my life after school progress without him. His encouragement was palpable. When we spoke just after Christmas, he said to me, 'Juliet, anyone else would have given up, but you didn't. know that I am here for you. Let me know how i can help and promise to call me every two weeks'
Jim's impact on my entrepreneurial lifestyle has been tremendous. He got me going, and got me excited about my own idea
I have shed many tears over Jim's passing and am still in a state of shock by how suddenly it came. It was only a few weeks since my last visit, and Jim was nothing other than his usual jovial self. I have so many wonderful memories of my many visits to Maine it’s not easy to share just one, but it would take forever to recall and share all of them.

The world fell silent for me as I heard the news from family that Jim Maxmin died. For those who know me well, you know that Jim Maxmin and Shoshana Zuboff are cherished mentors and friends.
I got to know Jim through my role supporting the Demeter Network. It's nearly impossible to imagine that someone so vibrantly full of life and an eagerness to help others is no longer here with us. Jim was the rare soul that can mix intellectual drive and curiosity with the ability to get things done.
We both met him in 1999 when working at Monitor with Richard Broyd. I was a young financial analyst and the first impact with Jim was like nothing I ever experienced (before or since).

We are sorry for your loss. I have various recollections. His humanity with all was heart warming! His ability to get things done. I say it ain't about the thinking, it is about the doing and Jim was all of that and more.
At this difficult time in your life, I pray that God will grant you the serenity and peace that you need to get through this.
The Morang Family was stunned and filled with sorrow to hear of Jim's passing.

Deciding to start a company is one thing; actually starting it is another. The decision can happen while on an optimistic buzzy brain over a few beers; bringing it to life might take years and will undeniably affect your life. For me, it’s the most difficult experience I’ve gone through and not for the obvious reasons.
